Pipeline Research Council International, Inc. (PRCI) is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit corporation comprised of energy pipeline companies. Although originally focused on technology development for the gas transmission pipeline industry across the research spectrum from basic to applied, over the years PRCI has increasingly focused on near-term integrity and reliability solutions to design and operating problems and realizing the opportunities that an industry-managed program generates. As the focus of the work has evolved and broadened so too has PRCI's membership with an increasing focus on oil and petroleum products pipelines. As a result, PRCI is now a critical resource for all 'energy pipelines'.

Gas Technology Institute (GTI) is the leading research, development and training organization serving the natural gas industry. For more than 60 years, GTI has been meeting the nation's energy and environmental challenges by developing technology-based solutions for consumers, industry, and government.

TinyOS Community TinyOS is an open-source operating system designed for wireless embedded sensor networks. It features a component-based architecture which enables rapid innovation and implementation while minimizing code size as required by the severe memory constraints inherent in sensor networks.

Compliance / Standards

21 CFR Part 11 web site provides access to information on the rule and also maintains an email list that actively discusses issues and concerns with industry peers and government regulators. On this site you will find the latest conference, meeting and seminar information as well as links to vendors and consultants who can help the pharmaceutical community with issues of compliance with regulations and productivity.

CTI Start-up promotes the building of enterprises in the high-tech sector. Knowledge that has already been gained is used directly in new enterprises. The focus lies on the especially difficult start-up phase of founding a company. The initiative qualifies new enterprises for venture capital financing and encourages the further development of their pioneering feet in science by direct interaction with universities and colleges.

Research Centers and Universtities

Southwest Research Institute Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) is an independent, nonprofit applied research and development organization. The staff of 3,000 specialize in the creation and transfer of technology in engineering and the physical sciences. The Institute occupies more than 1,200 acres in San Antonio, Texas, and provides nearly two million square feet of laboratories, test facilities, workshops, and offices. SwRI's total revenue for fiscal year 2004 was $399 million.

CC Technologies is an engineering, research, and testing firm specializing in corrosion control, fitness-for-service, pipeline/plant integrity analysis, corrosion monitoring, materials evaluation and selection, asbestos analysis, and design and development of instrumentation and software. Since its inception in 1985, CC Technologies has grown to 130 people.

EPFL Spanning an active continuum from fundamental research to technology transfer, the EPFL brings together expertise at the highest levels of science, engineering and architecture. There are more than 250 laboratories and research groups on campus, many of them interdisciplinary. With thousands of journal citations, hundreds of publications, and over 200 doctoral dissertations every year, research at the EPFL is thriving.

NCCR - Mobile Information & Communication Systems (MICS) The National Centers of Competence in Research (NCCR) are placed under the authority of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to promote long term research projects in areas of vital strategic importance for the evolution of science in Switzerland, for the country's economy and for Swiss society. Each Center of Competence is based in and managed by a university or other renowned research institution. The NCCR MICS is tackling the wide range of communication problems, from the study of fundamental principles (network structures, distributed algorithms, information and communication theory) to the development of platforms (wireless sensor technology, ad-hoc networks, in-network information processing, software verification), and their deployment in applications. With a quadrennial budget of more than 20 million Euros, the NCCR MICS is one of the world's largest single-funded programs in this domain, allowing a coordinated research effort over different approaches.

Swiss Association for Corrosion Protection (SGK) is a neutral and not-for-profit company. They promote close co-operation between their partners and universities and develop specific corrosion solutions. The SGK also represents the interests of the corrosion protection of Switzerland in national and international committees.

HEIG-VD (School of Business & Engineering) The School of Business and Engineering Vaud HEIG-VD trains engineers and managers  to meet the challenges of theoretical research as well as practical workplace tasks.  HEIG-VD graduates can find solutions to given problems and perform project management in their fields of specialisation.  These highly qualified professionals are in great demand in various industries, in management as well as in technical departments.

Advanced Learning and Research Institute - ALaRI The Advanced Learning and Research Institute (ALaRI) was established in 1999 in Lugano, Switzerland, with the mission to offer an innovative teaching and research program to individuals who want to achieve a unique specialization in Embedded Systems.
